21 May - Building a Model of Practice

for coaches and organisations

Workshop on the 21st of May in South Africa

Run by the Society for Industrial and Organisational Psychology of South Africa (SIOPSA)

This workshop will outline key questions and approaches to help coaches build a robust model of practice. For experienced coaches with an explicit model of practice it will provide a critical perspective to refine their work against international standards, and for those with a tacit model of practice it will assist them to make it explicit. In either case a more rigorous approach for the benefit of clients will emerge. The workshop is
theoretically neutral and does not teach a specific approach, rather it provides a framework for the analysis of existing practice leading to improved standards.

16 June - How to develop your research interests

– from planning to reporting your results

Practitioners are keen to develop their research interests to bring value to both their practice and their marketing. We are offering, by demand, a one-day introductory workshop on how to develop your research interests. It is invaluable for the practitioner who would like to conduct his own enquiries but doesn’t know where to start.

Providing a route map for your enquiry, the workshop allows you to plan your way forward from the first idea to reporting your results. There will be an introduction to the range of methods that are available and how they can be matched to your research question. By the end of the workshop participants should be aware of what is involved in research, what is the type of research they would like to pursue and how they can take the next steps. Workshop packs include reading lists, guide to literature review, and methodology resources.

Optional research supervision is available upon request.

Venue: Middlesex University Trent Park campus 9.30 through to 5.00pm (light lunch included)
