The Veterinary Masters Group
Vet Learning Organisation CIC developed out of the need to offer Veterinary Surgeons the opportunity to further enhance their professional skills. Previous to this there were no advanced certification or masters degrees in general practice.
In 2001 The Society of Practicing Veterinary Surgeons (SPVS) in conjunction with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons approached PDF and the National Centre for Work Based Partnerships at Middlesex University to explore this need further. After much research SPVS and PDF together with a group of senior veterinary practitioners developed a professional strategic framework, which lead to the formation of a Certificate in General Practice - CertAVP (GP Vet). This is now offered as a Certificate in Primary Care - Cert AVP (Veterinary Primary Care).
Subsequently Masters and Doctorate research projects were also developed, to specifically address vets interests. Vet Learning Organisation supports vets in their advanced learning. We work with the Royal Veterinary College to offer continuing Professional Development in Primary Care and with Middlesex University to offer Masters and Doctorate qualifications.
Vet Learning also collaborates with the Royal Veterinary College to provide CPD in Primary Care.
We are now pleased to say that we have helped over more than 100 students achieve their professional learning goals.
