PDF Practitioner Research Workshops are held in preparation for the Global Coaching Community’s ‘Rainbow Convention’

Dr Annette Fillery-Travis visits South Africa in September. She is presenting three 2-day workshops in Practitioner Research – in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town. These workshops are part of a continuing process of development which will produce a learning hub within South Africa for coaching.

Coaches are being invited to take part in learning groups or pods. Each will choose a research topic linked with the Global Coaching Community (GCC) working groups. Over the next months they will carry out research in organisations, community projects, prisons etc and bring their results and learning to the Rainbow Convention 2010 in South Africa.

This GCC Rainbow Convention continues the work of the Dublin Convention and promises to be the largest gathering of coaches ever seen.

We at PDF are proud to be contributing to the development of practitioner researchers in this ambitious endeavour.

Coaching in Complex Spaces

Prof Lane asks whether our current model of coaching meets the demands of complex times and offers some searching questions to extend our practice

This workshop at the 2nd European Coaching Psychology Conference will consider what it means to coach in complex spaces and will ask delegates to consider the value of their own coaching approach when faced with complexity. Professor David Lane will help delegates consider what it means to work in unprecedented times, the evidence base we use and what might coaching psychologists offer when faced with turbulence. Delegates will explore three coaching spaces representing differing degrees of turbulence and ask what a coaching model fit for each space might contain.
