Leadership Development for DEFRA

Working with a government department we have validated a three leadership development programme. The programme based on key change projects across the organisation enables leaders to build their own skill base while completing key projects identified as important to the department. Through the submission of a series of learning journeys linked to key outcomes for professional and organisational development candidates complete with a Masters Degree in Business and Management.
Leadership Development and Coach Mentor Development for Regional Health Authority

Working initially with a health authority and then extending the programme regionally, this scheme is provided for the management development of key leaders supported by mentor coaches (who were also trained in the scheme). The programme identified the core competencies for success in the organisation. A 360 degree assessment was undertaken and used to assist managers design a professional development plan for themselves. Key change projects for their area of responsibility were identified and the competence needed to complete the project mapped against their competencies. Supported by their mentor coach, and a series of learning workshops, managers developed agreed competences and completed the key project resulting in significant changes for the organisation. Follow up over ten years showed that the programme resulted in very much higher levels of promotion as well as productivity and quality gains for the health authority.
Behaviour Support in Education

Working with a Beacon Authority we have developed a scheme for the children’s workforce to provide coherent professional development across the board. Through developing individual learning plans linked to local and national priorities, candidates can institute key changes in their organisation, develop their own competence and acquire credentials at all levels through to Masters and Doctorate degrees and awards from professional bodies. This scheme uniquely provides work-based learning in education. It builds on programmes and research conducted by the PDF from our inception in 1975. The scheme while developed with London education authorities is available nationally.
